  1. Hi, I'm having a problem playing vcds on my dvd recorder - I created them from a downloaded AVI file, converted them to mpeg with avi2vcd and burned the disc with cdr tfe. They play on my Silady dvd player (bought in Korea). Any help much appreciated.

    Cheers

Maybe it just doesn't support VCDs or it could be a cd-r/w media problem(try different cd media) or maybe doesn't cdrtfe create compliant vcds(try author and burn with something else) or maybe it's a pal/ntsc problem.

  3. The unit does support VCD in [P\LAY] ---- Not Record

As indicated by Baldrick the disk nay have been created in a manor that the 5001 does not accept

Just because the Silady player will play the disk, does not mean the 5001 will or that there is anything wrong with the 5001

  4. I know the player plays vcds, I know it's not a problem with PAL/NTSC - I'll try another media and another burner - has anyone any views on burners - freeware would be nice.

Thanks agian for your replies guys.
