I have a few Pal VHS from Europe when my kids were just a few Months old. I can not watch them in Canada. How can I convert to NTSC and burn a DVD? What do I need?

    Thanks

I do it with a genuine PAL VHS machine and record to my DVD Recorder(that records in either PAL or NTSC)....then use my Thomson DVD player (that converts PAL to NTSC(and vise versa) back to my DVD Recorder.
It's not an inexpensive method though.

In your case which sounds like a "one time deal"....I'd search the phone book for businesses that do that sort of thing. Also not very cheap...and the quality is sometimes questionable...but it may be cheaper in the long run. Just don't throw the tapes away once they are converted....always keep your originals.

I have to agree with Hech54. That is what I do with some PAL tapes from Europe. You can have them converted to NTSC tape and do DVD yourself or have a DVD made by a shop. I found TV repair shop which can do my tapes.
