    Hi,

I have a .avi file that I would like to convert to a video format so that I can play it on a DVD player. Is there any simple to use, free programs out there that I could use to perform this function.

    Thanks,

    Aaron

well tmpgenc plus isn't free but comes with a free 30 day trial. It comes with settings to convert to dvd format mpeg2 which you can then import into a dvd authoring program.

Check out the list of video encoders above. I believe convertx is recommend frequently here.

You can get the free version of Convertxtodvd Here. There is nothing simpler. You just add the file and then click convert and you will have a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder you can burn with Imgburn, which is also free.

ConvertX isn't free, but there is a freeware earlier version, DivxToDVD: http://download.videohelp.com/download/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_0.52.99.exe

But the payware ConvertXToDVD is well worth the price.

Well, I have here a movie that is MP3 VBR with delays...it gets out of sync

    I purchased version 2.2.1.253

I will be very gratefully if you explain me how can I fix this audio

Using VDub to decompress, demux, or recompress it isn't enough ... unless you fix delays and all that stuff

One-click easiest converter ? definitely it is
