Hi,
Have a DVP5140 that's about 16 months old, it's had a resonable amount of use.
This weeks it's developed a fault where it has real trouble reading dual layer discs. It will take 2-5 minutes to load and another 2-5 minutes to change layer. This is accompanied by some strange hardware noises (it sounds nothing like skipping).
It will read single layer discs fine.
Has anybody else experienced this? Can anybody suggest some possible fixes?
Thanks in advance
Stu

Likely a hardware issue. Reading DL discs requires the unit to focus more accurately on each layer. You would also likely see issues on recordable media before commercial media. Aside from possibly a dirty lense, there isn't anything you can do to "fix" it. Repair shop if it's under warranty, replacement if not.
