Demuxed vobs using pgcdemux to get a PAL videostream and several subsstreams plus 1 audiostream (AC3 - 5.1). After remuxing using muxman, the soundlevel was very low. Any way to correct this?

Nice and quick answer, but the link for download doesn't work.

Some AC3 filters have an independent volume control that can produce low volume by default. Check that before you re-encode the audio.

Yes, it could be your PC playback software, as the guns1inger sayeth. You could install Ac3filter and tweak the output levels: Also, read the author's article on dynamic range compression for PC playback:

    http://ac3filter.net/guides/dynamic_range_compression

If the issue is with the file itself, you can determine this with an easy to use Japanese utility:
    vobaudio105.zip

    Just two buttons:

    Here's vobdnorm from coises

Strange, vobaudio said dialog normalization was 31. Burned the DVD which plays normally with good sound.
The weird thing is that I dont have problems with AC3 sound usually.
    Thanx for your good answers.
