    Politics aside, would he really have been responsible to research and write the stories? By the time this came out his job was probably to deliver the material as the news face of the network and nothing more. It's not a stretch to believe others rushed to cover their @$$e$ and pin it on someone who nearing his shelf life was quite expendable.

    What's nauseating is that Rather, as a free man and a FREE newsman, claimed that he WAS FORCED to apologize!

    HUH?!!!

    Give me a freaking break!

    He apologized because he was hoping to save his seat (or azz?!!!). But when his apology failed to do so, and he got his butts kicked all the way to Lebanon then out of CBS doors, his I-don't-get-what-I-want-I-will-raise-hell personality (ask Connie Chung about her coverage of the Oklahoma bombing and her subsequent dismissal from CBS about this personality) takes over.

    Shame on Rather! Shame on CBS. No wonder why their news hour rating has plunged to the lowest even after they brought in K....K....Katie K...K....K...ouirc.
