  1. Well, I'm attempting to convert some H.264 AVI files into Divx AVI files but I'm having some serious issues. Yes I have the codecs, and no I'm not setting it up wrong. Basically everything I try makes the converted file no bigger than 14.4MB, from a 250MB compressed source file, and many make it under 10MB. I've confused. I'm using Virtual Dub, latest version, for the conversions. Any ideas?

  2. Do you see the picture in VirtualDub's source window? Is there video in your output file?

    General procedure:

    File -> Open Video File
    Video -> Fast Recompress
    Video -> Compression (select Divx and parameters, try 1-pass-quality-based, fixed quantizer 3)
    File -> Save as AVI.

  3. EDIT: Well nvm, just tried some different settings and it worked. Went back and tried my old settings and even that is working now. I have no idea what happened, but at least it's fixed. Very weird.

    EDIT EDIT: Think I figured out what it was. When I tried it a minute ago I wasn't trimming the file and the output file size seemed normal. Second I added some trimming to it, it went back to being messed up. Ohh well.
