I recently purchased a 500gb Seagate Free Agent external hard drive. My cunning plan was to take it with me to Australia and use it to dump all my digital camera pictures and video on to it, along with some other nice data from friends there.
Now it's the day before I leave and I've realized that powering the drive may be an issue in Australia.
Looking at the AC adapter it says
Although the plug wouldn't physically plug in to a typical Australian power outlet, it does seem like it would work with an adapter.Code:INPUT: AC 100-240v, 50/60Hz, 0.6A OUTPUT: DC 12V/2A (-)-(.__(+)
Australia uses 240v & 50Hz (US is 120v/60Hz), and it looks like this AC adapter is capable of handling that.
If a plug adapter/converter doesn't work I suppose I could shop around for one of those universal AC adapters while in Australia, but I imagine the plug adapter/converter would be less expensive... but I don't want to fry the drive either
Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can provide.

So, I'm thinking all I need is a plug adapter/converter thing?
