I just upgraded to build 2.5.2720 and my autofit button is now dulled out and not selectable. It's sad because the video I am using has 6213Kbs bitrate so I know there is plenty of room to reduce it from 4.92G to a size that will fit on a DVD. Anyone else having this problem? What could be causing it for me?

It is only activated for source which will be encoded (mkv, avi, ts etc). If you are using mpegs which don't require further encoding then they won't be as this would be unnecessary and would incurr a loos in quality.

The recommended path therefore woul be to create the DVD as normail and then use DVD Shrink to reduce the size slightly.

In fact with the latest build: If you have DVD shrink installed and you have the following selected in your settings:

SVCD2DVD will automatically use DVD Shrink to "shrink" DVDs that are too big that it produces...
