    Hello, my friend owns a Samsung TX-S3082WH and wants to update it via the usb port, but when we went searching for drivers, updates, or any info related to the mysterious port we came up empty-handed.

    Does anybody know what the purpose of this plugin is? Or where we can get updates for it?

    Basic concept is you download drivers from the Samsung support site to your computer. Decompress or whatever then copy files to a USB flash drive. Then plug the flash drive into the HDTV and access the driver update section in the HDTV setup menus and follow instructions. This should be detailed in the product manual or support website.
