Hello there
I replaced my DVD drive unit a few months ago. I bought a LG GSA-H42N and it has worked fine so far.
Now, all of a sudden, the drive is very slow. Both reading/decrypting and burning are done at a maximum of 1.2x .![]()
My IDE settings are as follows:
Primary IDE Channel
Device 0
Transfer Mode: DMA if available
Current Transfer mode: Ultra DMA Mode 5
Device 1
Transfer Mode: DMA if available
Current Transfer mode: n/a
Secondary IDE Channel
Device 0
Transfer Mode: DMA if available
Current Transfer mode: PIO Mode
Device 1
Transfer Mode: DMA if available
Current Transfer mode: Ultra DMA Mode 2
Does this depend on the PIO Mode on Secondary IDE Channel. If so, how can I change it?
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Cosmo

Delete the channel and reboot the computer. No harm will come of it.

A Sticky should be made since this question is quite often asked. If any moderator is online would you consider it?
