The audio is 128kbs Stereo MP3. Acceptable quality for most genres, but not quite comparable to a properly encoded 160kbs VBR MP3. At least in my genre which is electronic/trance that has a lot of sharp sounds, "attacks" and high frequencies. But anyway I think Vimeo is the way to go for nowOriginally Posted by Spartacomponly your video will get 100times less hits

But you cannot use that on YouTube anymore without waiting for the button (if it comes at all after several hours of waiting) or without asking your clients to add &fmt=18 to the URL... right? So, it doesn't matter anymore!! VIMEO is the new answer!! I am almost ready setting up my new account. And I am happy!!Originally Posted by djspaceport

Edit: btw, you cannot get higher than 128Kbps MP3 on YouTube anyway!! Every input will be converted to 128. So, the answer is clear to me. VIMEO!!
And don't worry about the hits. Within one year it can and most likely will be that competitor that brings YouTube back to its senses. (I.E. back to reality and serving customers - that is with REAL HQ and without a silly button solely serving their pathetic ego)!!
Get the word out!

I'm going to have to agree; although to test this out I put a speedcore mix I made (much more demanding than your trance): http://vimeo.com/1385838Originally Posted by djspaceport

Ask Frifox, he is very willing to help you, especially when you have contributed to this thread, like I have, honestly, you will get an answer from him within a year or so!!Originally Posted by TheGoldStar

if you were walkin in a street and you see an old man in the floor, do you help him? or not because he didnt help you in the past?...
sorry, my english suck xD -
Okay man, I will help you, I had to find this out myself without any help and I made a little 2 step bat program to make this VERY easy for you, okay?Originally Posted by Spartacomp
Download this file: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GQ0Z35I2
Rename your H264-MP4 file into: video
and place it into the "H264-MP4 into FLV container" folder.
Execute bat 01 and when done, execute bat 02 for a nice flv header.
The end result is a H264-MP4 in flv container named: MyH264FLV
The default flv in the folder is for 640x480 resolution. If your H264-MP4 has a different resolution, simply replace the default flv for the one that's similar (and rename it to default.flv ofcourse). You can find different default flv's in the defaults folder.
Good luck!
Edit: there might be a little audio glitch in the beginning of the produced flv. This can be solved with better defaults (I think). Unfortunately I cannot find the time to produce them right now, but as soon as I can, I will upload them. -
omg, dude you are the best!! you are a good person, thanks!!

sparta, you forgot to include flvbind in the rar xD, btw when i bind default.flv (h.263) with the MyH264FLV (h.264) i get a video a final video with h.263.. how can i fix that ? and sorry, but what ''header'' is for?
-
OMG!! sorry for that.Originally Posted by TheGoldStar

Here it is!Originally Posted by Spartacomp

Just put it into the "H264MP4 into FLV container" folder.
The second bat file makes a decent detailed header, but you don't have to do that necessarily. Because of the flvbind with the default.flv, an flv header is already created and yes, it says H263, but it's really H264 don't worry. The second bat is just an extra service.

You don't need a premium account to upload HD videos.Originally Posted by virtualgamesco

(will upload a better looking video than this one) -
Hmm.. I wonder if My method was banned too.
I'll test and write the results soon. -
Meanwhile I have tried several different defaults, even without audio, but they all seem to produce that same audio glitch in the beginning when playing the H264 in flv container. Sorry for that, but at the moment I have no other solution. On the bright side, at least this works.Originally Posted by TheGoldStar

Youtube encodes all videos to low quality, and ones with over 600 overall kbps to have the "Watch in High Quality" button. What I was saying is that if you only have a source video of 600 kbps, it won't look much better than the LQ youtube encode, and for me 600 kbps hasn't guaranteed a button. I suggested 900ish because then the High Quality button will display a lot higher quality. Dunno if I explained that well, hope I did.Originally Posted by gforce23

In other news, is it just me or is the "watch in HQ" mode different from manually entering &fmt=18 in the URL? This file was uploaded last night and if my ears serve me right, there are three distinct modes - "watch in SQ", "watch in HQ" and &fmt=18. The first 5-odd seconds should give you an idea:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHl-H0KfYCc -
does youtube now begins to delete HQ videos or what? I notice that different formats of some of my uploaded videos are no longer available, when I try to play them the youtube flash player show this message "We're sorry, this video is no longer availble"
looks like its all over for youtube.. -
That has happened for alot of videos dissociative, including non-HQ videos. And gforce23, I'm 99% sure that "Watch in High Quality" is equal to &fmt=6, the HQ flash version, and adding &fmt=18 is for the HQ MP4 version.
-
how can you tell the difference between HQ FLV and HQ MP4? It all looks like the same crappy quality youtube gives
-
MP4 is not crappy, its actually quite good... to answer your questions, HQ FLV has mono audio (MP3) and HQ MP4 has stereo audio (AAC)
-
MP4 is fmt=18 right?
I think the quality of MP4 and High Quality Flash really depends on the RAW file that you upload..... If the RAW file has awesome quality like 720p with a high bitrate, I think it would have similar quality to our HD videos. -
I was able to play a Flv HQ video that I uploaded but that the youtube flash player says that is no longer available from now with tribler, I was looking to a alternative for video sharing websites like youtube based in peer to peer technology, I found tribler and I installed it, it can browse youtube videos also but It still lacks of too much features in my opinion, it still feels much more like some kind of filesharing application rather than a tool for accessing a video sharing community.Originally Posted by Assault

cjwcorp, that's right, but Youtube will still re-encode it to MP4 with around 1000 bitrate. If you'd like an example, look at this video I just recently uploaded:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBGm35-y0vY&fmt=18
Don't mind the content, I'm a gamer. But anyways, that was recorded to MPEG-2 with 10,000 kbps and then encoded to 160/44.1 stereo MPEG Layer-3 and Xvid single pass @ 1000 kbps in an AVI container. But look at how clear the picture is, you can still easily get very high quality images with the "Watch in High Quality" button, it's just the annoyance of having to press it every time.
Also, the "Watch in High Quality" button and &fmt=18 is for the MP4/stereo version, &fmt=6 is for the HQ flash version. From what I observed, most videos are encoded to both but only the LQ encode and the MP4/stereo version are viewable by clicking "Watch in High Quality", and it replaces the MP4 link with the HQ flash link if the source video's video has a high enough bitrate to qualify for the button but the sound is in mono.
Also also, for any musicians willing to have the button, uploading with the above settings/codecs produces a "Watch in High Quality" button and the video is publicly viewable within 5-10 minutes of upload. No waiting long periods of time. I'm not sure if xvid is just easier for the Youtube server to handle, or if they upgraded their equipment (I have no idea how much more it could get upgraded considering it can handle over a million videos...). I have a feeling that the maintenance that ruined bypassing Youtube's encoders also provided much MUCH MUCH MUCHHH faster "Watch in High Quality" buttons. -
If that's the case, has anyone found a way to link the MP4 version with the "watch in HQ" link? I mean, is it possible to force the MP4 version to play when a viewer clicks on the HQ link?Originally Posted by Assault
The PQ is pretty decent but talk about the awesome mono output. :POriginally Posted by Assault -
I recorded it with only one of the audio cables so yeah, it's mono, but it was upmixed to stereo so it sounds somewhat between the two ;P
I made a mistake there too gforce, Watch in HQ = &fmt=18 = MP4 by default, and Watch in HQ = &fmt=6 = HQ flash if you have mono sound. -
YouTube sucks. Time to move on. :P Seriously, it's hard to move on to Vimeo for better quality, etc. because YouTube is like the biggest video network.
-
That's the problem neohanime, most people want a large audience, minus the musicians. =P
