I doubt they'd disable .flv's in general, because some people actually like to upload in that format without any tricks. =p

Looks like accounts are getting a layout upgrade, as I'm currently unable to access my messages. Uploading videos isn't possible at the moment either, so we definetly have to start searching for new methods.
-
Not necessarily, you usually can't check your messages, received videos, video comments, etc, or upload videos while they're doing maintenance. Give it time.

Well if theyre watching Over us in this Website, we Can just make our Own private Website or Blog that Noone can get access to Other than Us,
If you agree to this, i'll Start making A private website -

i uploaded a video just before maintenance, and the duration hex was still working... i'll check it out AFTER maintenance to see if it still works

You're all doing a GREAT job.

hmm, I think they'll accept .flv's again. And hopefully they're changing the my videos page ^^
-
one of the "secret" methods i've been using seems to be gone... didnt try the others yet.
EDIT: and also, uploaded FLV's get converted to low quality IMMEDIATELY... this doesnt look too good -
Frifox, if you're 100% sure it's gone, can you explain it here a little bit or in a PM? I don't care if it isn't of any use, but it gives me/maybe others a better understanding for it.
-
it involved having 2 audio streams with different sample rates... apparently that was tripping youtube, and now they just report "unable to convert"
also, a second spinoff of that method above, adding some special audio tags to the start of the video was keeping videos HQ, but that is also is a gonner -
Oh.. Could it perhaps be another one of those fluke things where you have to upload it multiple times or use the multi-video uploader?
-
doubt that, i already tried it... but you can also give it a try. maybe you'll have more luck than me
-
I tried uploading a few 10 second video samples from a trailer, using w16, c243, and spartacomp's "teamwork" method, as well as mixes between the three. All of them failed at ~3-4 uploads on no embedding/private with the multi-video uploader, so I don't really know what to say. I don't know how to do the other 2 methods, so I'm not sure, but I think that those 3 are completely dead. =(
EDIT: One of the ones where I did w16 and hexed the audio to pad to 11 minutes stayed high quality for about 5 minutes, went live within 10 seconds of finishing upload. It got encoded though, but at least it stayed for a bit. Of course the thumbnail was screwed, though. -
again, H264 is only a video codec, not a method.
since the methods we used to keep our FLV's in their original format got blocked, H263/MP3 or H264/AAC are not possible anymore... -
Hmm things don't sound so good so far. I'm testing a couple of videos right now. One video has been in the "Uploaded (processing, please wait)" state for 30 minutes already.
-
Damnit looks like its all over
ive tried every method that I know of (re-uploading each video 5 times) nomore H263,H263 & VP6! Wonder if other codecs could work
Bet those Youtube nerds are reading this and laughing at us -
Probably rajman... Probably...
Codecs aren't the problem right now, I've tried almost every codec that I have and they all fail.
New methods are what we need to find, then H263/H264/VP6 should all work fine (with the methods of course)
