    hello everybody, does anyone has ever made to get msu subtitle remover wroked properly? I am trying for a few hours now, to blur the hardsubs on a movie, but the result is to get mane pixeld of the video blured etc

    I hop that someone will reply soon!


    ps: don't post the link to writer's site's guide, becasue it's not a guide, it jsut explains the definitions :P

    Yes and no , it takes time and much adjustment ... if their large , it will cause sever pixelization to appear because it needs to be recompressed .

    I had better results by converting test samples to dv avi and applying the filter , then recompress later .

    and here is a german version of it, which has the subs blurred!

    You could use a DV codec like the Panasonic DV Codec and open the video in VirtualDub or VD Mod, then re-encode to DV format. You may have to resize to DV framesize, 720 x 576 pixels PAL or 720 x 480 NTSC, depending on which system you are using.

    and after re-encoding, the filter will have better results? :P

    why do i have to re-encode it anyway?:P

    The problem is when you use such filters for video , it gets re-encoded again , and the quality can go south if you don't do it right first time ... dv avi is a safer bet to handle when it comes to such processing .

    As for better results ... remember its how you apply the filter ... you may find you need to make a few adjustments before you get something suitable ... in any case , you'll get close , but thats all .

    I don't mind subs ... its those channel icons that tick me off ... I already know what channel I'm watching .
