  1. hi im trying to convert a bunch of avi video files
    http://xs219.xs.to/xs219/07360/avi.gif.xs.jpg

    to mpg1 coded videos
    http://xs219.xs.to/xs219/07360/mpg.gif.xs.jpg

    can anyone help me to tell me how and with what apps?

  3. Yes i do intend to do this on both platforms, i just posted the screen shots to give out the info/specs of the two files im trying to make the conversion. So theres the avi i want to make into an mpg1 video. Ultimate goal is to burn on to a dvd disk many mpg1 videos so i can see them after on my dvd player (Comet DV-4839 unheard of perhaps?)

    I would use ffmpegX for this sort of task. Take a VCD preset, then change the audio to 48 kHz, de-select author, encode.
    (ffmpegX can author all converted items to DVD with the svcdvd tool, albeit without menu.)
    Drop 'em in Toast with re-encode set to 'never', to author a nice menued DVD from it.
