  1. I've been trying to split an .ogg audio file with no loss in quality by importing it into a video in Virtualdubmod and using the selection to pick out the bits I want.

Unfortunately, the import bar on Virtualdubmod goes all the way to the end and then crashes the application every time. I've tried altering the Decoder settings on ffdshow between Tremor, libavcodec and disabled with no luck.

I've also tried every application I can find that claims to losslessly split .ogg files, but they either reencode or just can't do it. The .ogg file itself plays fine in VLC Player.

    Any advice appreciated.

  2. Well, for anyone else with this trouble in the future, the problem was caused by the .ogg file not having a proper header (it was a capture of a stream). Virtualdubmod doesn't like that, it seems.

VLC Media Player was able to output the problem file as a new .ogg stream without losing any quality. This new file did have a proper header and worked with Virtualdubmod with no problems.

  3. Try making a avs script.

    DirectshowSource("C:\YourFile")

Then just click and drag it into VDubMod. That almost always lets me open a file in Vdub =D
