Hi I'm lookng for a freeware app that will allow me to edit an audio format such as .ape or even .mp3 in order to break one long track into multiple tracks. I've tried a couple such as wavsaurus that will not even load the file much less allow any editing. years ago I had software bundled with Soundblaster Live!'s MP3 soundcard that would convert other formats to .wav, allow editing then re-convert back to .mp3, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any useful advice.

If you have APE or FLAC, ect files & you have one large file that needs to have track points added, you can extract the wav with Trader's Little Helper, then load it into CD Wave Editor to set track splits & create a cue sheet for burning.
EDIT:
Now that i look.... CD Wave Editor will actually load flac and ape files directly.
