Just picked up an Epson 4490 and hope I got the right one. I need to scan some 35mm slides. I have never used a scanner for slides. Do they actually produce acceptable detail or is the picture grainey? Anyone have experience scanning slides. Is the Epson 4490 up to the task? Will I get good detail?

I have a 3490 and it does a great job. Just as good if not better than scanning a print.

 Just make sure it's clean!!!!!!!
