    i have combo rioch dvd+re-writer..i have tried various software to try and rip dvds to no avail ......does anyone have any ideas...ps my machine has all relevent drivers etc

    What softwares have you tried ?

    Did you look under the rip section to the left ?

    I'd recommend using Sefy's Classical Newbie guide.

    SmartRipper/DVD Decryptor / Clad / etc.
    Dvd2AVI
    TMPGEnc
    Nero

    where can I get SmartRipper, ReMPEG2 and DVD2AVI software. The vcdhelp site gives good instructions on how to use these but I need the software itself.

    The softwares all should work. Do they even "see" the dvd drive ? Have you installed an aspi layer ? If not are your sure you tried SmartRipper (that will "create" one in Win2k /XP )?

    As far as where the softwares are - Look under the TOOLS section to the left
