Im having trouble with one of my SATA drives. Everytime i boot up my PC, why do i always have to go to Computer Management and reactivate my SATA 500GB drive? I also have a SATA 300GB drive and an 80GB IDE, but i have no problems with those. Is there anything i can do so that whenever i boot up my PC i wont have to always bring my SATA drive Online? I appreciate any help anybody can give me. thanks

Your mobo might require a bios update.

That board has 2 different (I think) SATA chipset controllers onboard, nVidia and Silicon Image. If it does try putting both your SATA drives on the nVidia controller (or vice versa).

OP, I have the same board with the exception of mine being a premium.

As someone else has mentioned, there are two controllers on the board. The 4 black SATA ports are the nvidia controllers while the 4 red SATA ports are Silicon Image controllers.

Ensure you are using the latest MB drivers as well as the latest BIOS.
