Hi all.
I'm using v2.5.3000 to convert some video.... and it has worked fine till now.
I've only ever converted avi's/mpg's but this is a mkv file.
File stats are...
Size: 2.14gb
Duration: 01:45:21.1
Video: h264 1270x720 NTSC
Audio: ac3 48KHz 0Kbps
When added it takes the size to 6.83gb.
I then use autofit to bring down to 4.37gb.
But once converted, it is still 4.63gb.
I've attached the log incase it helps shed any light as to what is wrong.
Thanks in advance

Try the newest version, I believe it was released to address this problem.

Hi ChrissyBoy et al,
I'm having the same problem with my mkv files. They just don't scrunch down quite enough. At least I think it's caused by the mkv's because the avi's seem to be fine since you tweaked the programme a couple weeks back.
My log follows

Its not picking up the bitrate from the audio and so doesn't take this into account. I will investigate.

I've experienced the same on a couple of occasions when trying to put 6 or 7 .avi files onto a disc (Sopranos episodes). Autofit them and everything seems fine until it comes time to actually burn the converted files onto a dvd. A couple of times they've come up just fractionally too big.
As a work-around I've added an additional asset (a small .avi clip- 40mb), auto fitted everything, then removed the small 'filler' file to reduce the size even further. This has worked for me so far. -

ChrissyBoy,
Is your suggestion to daz72 what the rest of us in this thread should be trying? ...or have you got something else up your sleeve?

No - the mkv issue is different and i will be taking a look into it ASAP.

The bug with mkv files leading to an oversized image still seem to be present in the latest version (2.5.3300)
