Well guys, I need your help again. I'm trying to get an animation to look good on dvd. Below is an image file. The animation is made in AnimeStudio at 24fps. I encoded it in TMPGEnc Plus with 3:2 pulldown playback and it just seems jaged when viewed on a non-progressive tv. On my lcd tv with progressive dvd player it looks fine. It's most noticable on the tree tops. Any thoughts would be great. I have tried quiet a few different settings with different software but I must be missing something.

Your pulldown doesn't appear to be correct. The pulldown should be from 24 fps to 29.97 fps. Yours is 24 fps -> 30 fps. On a progressive TV this won't be an issue because it eschews the pulldown and presents 24 fps. On an interlaced TV the 30 fps output might be causing your issues. If tmpgenc is applying the pulldown, encode without pulldown, then use DGPulldown to apply the correct pulldown and test again. I suspect that tmpgenc is applying 3:2 pulldown correctly, but not taking into account the base framerate of 24 fps, instead of 23.976 fps. DGPulldown can apply specific pulldown for this situation.

Can't you output video at 29.97 fps directly and avoid any rate conversion?
Or maybe use 25 fps (PAL) if your set can use that.
