Ok here is the workflow.
We capture in MPEG2 Program stream. There is no timecode in the MPEG 2 file. MPEG2 files get used for the Broadcast server but sometimes Production needs to make promos etc. So I use Digital Rapids to convert the MPEG2 to Quicktime DV. The problem is that the QuickTime file has no timecode for production which uses Final Cut Pro 5. They want to be able to save a project without having to save the whole original file and without the quicktime file not having timecode they can't do this. My question is, is there a way to inject time code in the MPEG2 file or the Quicktime file even if its time of duration timecode to satisfy that need?
I looked at Restream and that does not seem to do it but then again there are no instructions on how to use that software either. Any suggestions or help in this matter would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.
