  1. Hi Folks - so, with one project I'm cleaning up in Vegas 7.0 I'm having this issue when I try to use the Event Pan/Crop tool. There's some artifacts througout the clip at the very bottom of every frame, so I just wanna use the Event Pan/Crop tool to shave off the outter most frame of the entire project - almost like I just want to zoom in a tad. I'm set to 4:3 and when I manually adjust the border (say from the bottom right hand corner of the view rectangle and just push it in a little towards the center just to shave the outter most area of the picture) the entire picture starts to get distorted. It's like every other 5 lines shifts to one side a little.

Is Vegas trying to automatically resize/adjust itself? How do I stop it from doing that?

For fun, I tried changing the preset to 16x9 and I thought that might work, but I noticed that everytime there was a scene change the very top line of the picture (right below the top black bar) would start to pick up the next scene two frames too early. Weird.

  2. Don't resize interlaced video. Overlay the head switching noise with a black bar instead.

Go to Media Generators -> Solid Colour. Select the black solid and drag it to a new timeline. Move this timeline to the top of the stack. Use event pan and crop on the solid to move it down to cover the noise.
