As the title says, my new version of convertxtodvd takes 3x longer to convert than my previous version.
Why is this? Would i be better reverting back to the old version? Are they not supposed to make it better with each version?
I would be grateful if someone could shed some light on this. For me, time is a factor.![]()

must be a different source file, the program hasn't slowed down at all.

What versions are you talking about, and what source.
ConvertXtoDVD is certainly slower than DivxtoDVD, but then the quality is better, so it's a fair trade off. There have been no appreciable speed changes in version 2 of ConvertXtoDVD releases.
That said, some sources will convert much slower than others. I can encode a Divx/Xvid source in much faster than real time - often 40 - 50 fps - however some AVC/AAC source will encode as slow as 3 - 4 fps.Read my blog here.
