  3. Well, since you have Nero, you can use Phillips VideoCD 2.0 Toolkit which supports High res 704x480 NTSC or 704x576 PAL still menus (or 352x240 NTSC / 352x288 PAL Low res) with either mpeg audio or CD-DA audio tracks (or no audio if you're so inclined).

The menus display low res on the PC (in media player or whatever) and high res on the DVD player (a still picture on an NTSC DVD displays at 720x480). The toolkit also supports full-motion looping audio/video menus like a DVD.

There are a lot of different programs to download, but you'll have a very powerful suite of Professional VCD Development tools covering the entire VideoCD 2.0 specification (except for those damned closed captions).

All that software is very easy to use, it just takes some time to learn it (a lot of ground to cover, I hope you're patient). Most importantly, with the exception of Nero (which you already have), they're all free. There is a very good tutorial online here at VCDHelp.

It's a little out of date, though. For example, the TOCSPLIT.EXE v1.2 program that you download with toolkit (you'll read about it) now does split audio tracks properly. Use option 3 with Nero.

Also, the articles here are invaluable: they refer to the downloads here.

    Note:
You'll probably refer back to this post again and again as you figure out what the hell I'm talking about. Sorry I don't just write my own tutorial.
