  1. Hello,
I would like to make a browsable copy of a website on my hard drive in HTML, HTM, including all its subdirectory structure, files (text, graphics, sound), links (As well as links pointing to other servers) and most importantly, its search engine. (So that when I type something in the “search index” box, it will find the appropriate page from that website, stored in my hard drive)

The Website I’m interested in is:
    http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Portal:Main

What would be the best tool/program for this task?

    Thanks in advance

  3. Well, if I can't get the search engine it will be no good, as that’s what makes that site so cool and manageable.
Will I be able to get the search engine with any of the following tools?

Chances are very high that you will be able to copy that website locally. Too much of what you want and need is stored in databases and created dynamically. If the search is the most important feature and required to make it functional then I suspect you are in for great disappointment, as the search indexes will certainly be in a database somewhere that no off-line spider is going to be able to reach. The days of straight HTML pages is long gone.

Well I guess with all the pages stored locally, I could just do a windows document search?
