No, the consensus is that this brand really BLOWS !

I was hoping to hear it was good. The price I guess is just too good to be true.

Seems the only reliable DL disk still is Verbatim.

That means that the only thing those burned discs can be used for would be as coasters for your table - the things you put mugs on.

As for DL media - Verbatim DVD+R DL is the ONLY reliable brand. Ridata, Windata, Memorex, etc. don't hold a candle to Verbatim. For a couple of weeks Microcenter (microcenter.com) had the Verbatim 20-packs on sale for $28, which is the cheapest I have ever seen them without a rebate. They've shot back up to $50, but I would check periodically. Got myself two packs of them, probably should have bought more

Right . . . but I'd still like to know whatever happened to their 8x Singaporean DLs. Here's another stock # on them, this time from the 10-pack: #95166.

This is a great site for keeping up with the brick and morter stores computer and electronics sales in your state.

Sorry, it's only for US stores, not Canada.

How many times does it have to be said? Verbatim is the only reliable DL media. You're most likely wasting your money on anyting else.

Newegg.com recently had the Verbatim 20-pack for $34, which is pretty much the best you'll find online unless another Microcenter or BestBuy deal come along.

Honestly I find it kind of stupid that only one sole brand is the only one people use. Oh well got to go with the best I guess. I think I remember my cousin burning dl movies with memorex so thats why I asked.

Now it is $35.99 + $4.99 S&H. I bought this exact same item in August 2006 for $30.99 with S&H. To think that the DL media price would go down after a year. Now it goes up $5. What gives? Maybe they see people keep recommending that the only reliable DL is Verbatim so they jack up the price. Maybe demand is greater than supply!?

For the same pack, Microcenter now costs $50. That's outrageous.

Made In Singapore Verbatim +R DL was $19.99CAD/20 discs this week at Futureshop (Canada). A very good price for quality media. I had to get a raincheck on 2 spools of +R SL as they were sold out at both Futureshop and Staples. $19.99CAD/100 discs....

Maybe I shouldn't have bought that LaCie 500 Gig External USB 2.0 HDD last week but it was too good a deal to pass up ($135CAD tax included). I've heard the 1 TByte ones are to go on sale next....

Back on sale at Futureshop Canada:

    http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10076390&logon=&langid=EN

This time they are $30/20 discs but still better than stuff like the 25 pack of Philips they want $85 for....
