  3. Which version of S2D (full version # 2.5.###)?
Can you open one of the assets that generates the error in Gspot and post a screen shot of the result?

Firstly thank you all for replying to my post.
I have reinstalled my OS (needed it anyway), reinstalled SVCD2DVD ver 2.5.3100. and i keep getting the same error.. I will display the failed log below. I am sure someone else must have had the same problem.
I never had this problem with the older versions, but can't get them on the web site anymore.... can anyone help or just point me in the right direction.
    Thanks

I am having the same/similar problem suddenly. I tried three times to create a DVD unattended and each time came back to a partial VOB file that would not play. A 4th time I was sitting at the machine when a window error box "ffmpeg.exe has caused and error and will be closed" popped up and disappeared. This was on a W2K machine that I have made many good dvds with your program. Today a I ran it a 5th time on another machine (XP64). This time it created a complete VOB1 and started on VOB2, but both were still borked. The log file is from the 5th run. There are about 10K buffer errors.

    Thanks!

Understood the 1st time. I did go to the registered site and d/l the newest version. Perhaps I reinstalled the older version. I'll check.

No sorry needed. I was bummed at wasting your time. I was doing 10 things at once and was perhaps too far into the grape.

Yes, in fact I did re-install .32. stoopid me.

After installing the proper build, it seems to have run correctly and rather quickly. I am looking at the folder from a remote, so when I get in, I will test more fully. One bit of info that I did not notice from before was that .32 was showing my 5G asset (in the color coded file size bar) as over 6G and then making a 1G _SD2.mpg file. With v.33 it shows the same asset as just a skosh over 3G and makes a similarly sized _SD2.mpg file.

Hopefully that made sense. I'll report back after I have beaten the vob files with a stick.

The VOBs play fine, audio is in sync. Have not burned them yet, but all seems well. Thanks!

logfile attached in case you want to examine. Its quite a bit smaller than before, no buffer errors.

Weird, the video in the VOBs is 4:3 and the interlacing is very evident.

edit: the video in the _SD2.mpg file is 4:3 also, did I miss a new setting somewhere? The menu on the DVD is 16:9

Can you use the makesample tool in the SVCD2DVD\Tools folder to make a decent sample of your mpeg and upload it to ftp://uploader:badgers@nassau.globat.com/ for me to investigate please?

In the meantime - if you use the "Force 16:9" setting in the Video Encoding options you should be ok.

So, was there anything weird? In case it matters, that was a tivo file converted to mpg with TJsuite and edited with VRD.

Not really - but i never had a source of those dimensions to test with. Anyway I have fixed this for the next build. Do you want to test that (drop me an email)? Also did the force 16:9 wok for you?

    Email sent, thanks!

I did not test the 16:9 force as I was gone for a few days. I will try to force it later today, but I am leaving town again for Petit LeMans tonight and am not sure if I can in the time available.

new build seems to be working like a champ. Redid original problem file and burned dvd. Am doing a new file with same specs and will report back.
