    Hi guys,

I hope you can help me out here.

I have an Acer Lap Top 14" (Athlon X2) and I connected a new monitor (LG, 22') to it as an extension.

Everything is working fine. I was able to watch videos on BSPlayer, Windows on the 2nd monitor. My videos were in an external hard drive.

2 days ago though, I am unable to watch videos on the 2nd monitor. I could open the video files but as soon as they start playing, the screen goes "ghost" and when I close the application, the computer hangs.

But the 2nd monitor works fine. I am able to use it for non-video applications.

When I open a video program on my laptop monitor (Creative Media Source), the video plays without hanging although I noticed that the video was slower than usual.

Not sure what happened here. I still have to test the BSPlayer and Windows to see if it plays on the laptop but when I tried to do this with my Windows media player late last night, it didn't play right on my laptop.

This is weird because everything was going well then now, things suck.

BTW - -I tested things using videos from different external drives. And same trouble all the time.

    Acer Resolution - 1280x800
    LG Resolution - 1680x1050 (refresh 60)

Looking forward to getting direction from you guys. Thanks!!!

Have you installed any video software lately?

And try play with VLC Media Player, it has builtin codecs, and if it works fine it could be a codec problem. But I guess you have some video driver problem, no video on the second monitor is usually because of video overlay problems.

Thanks for your note. No I didn't. I have BS Player and after it hanged 3x, I uninstalled and reinstalled.

The weird thing is - - when I did that, things worked. And at that time, Windows was playing my videos without problem on the second big monitor.

But last night, things hanged again with BS Player. So I decided to open the video with Windows MP. This time, things hanged too.

    So not sure what's happening.

Any recommendations for testing/diagnostics and solutions?

Oh btw, I have an external usb tv tuner.

The 2nd monitor is able to play that flawlessly.
