  1. First I want to thank all of you who have been so helpful with my questions. I've ran into a lot of problems with both Womble MPEG Wizard DVD and Adobe Encore. I want to start out from scratch now because I see no hope of these two programs working together to reach my goal.

Here is what I'm trying to do. I need to take clips from various DVDs, edit them (audio editing as well for curse words), put text on the clips, and put them onto one DVD. The clips will be put onto a DVD as one big clip with over 60 chapters. The end action for every clip (or chapter) will be to go back to the menu and to hover over the following button.

I need a program that can do all of this and be able to put chapters at very specific time codes, not just at GOP Headers, or to be able to make GOP Headers at very specific places. I don't care how expensive the program is, if you could please point me in the right direction, that would be extremely helpful.

And again thank you so much for all the help you have already given me.

    You ask too much.

You need to use an editor to edit the video, alter the audio and add the text.

You need an authoring tool (and a good one at that) to create the chapters and menus the way you want them. Or you will be up for a lot of manual work in PGCEdit after the fact.

To add to the complication, if you want chapters at specific timecodes then you will have to re-encode to make sure that you have I-frames at these points. I know CCE can do this, and I suspect ProCoder can as well.

Premiere Pro 2.0 is probably sufficient for the editing of the video and audio, and to add text. Vegas will also do this well. Both will force re-encoding of the video, however if you put markers where you want your chapters to be, you should get you I-frames in the right place at the same time.

I would use DVD Lab Pro to author the disc.

I would use Imgburn to burn the results.
