I have some questions on capture facility from MPC. Im using capture card WINTV PCI from Hauppauge (old, but good quality based on 848 chip) to record from TV. On a recent reinstall of the supplied software WINTV 2000 my audio compression MPEG 3 disappeared from drop-down list and Im stuck with PMC. So I chose media player classic as capture. My first question... can I record while its capturing and where does MPC store output? Second question, can I compress audio to MPEG 3 "on-the-fly"? And last question, would it be better to use VLC? Grateful for any help.

I would check on the hauppauge site for upgraded drivers and software. You may also get help on this site. http://www.shspvr.com/

Ive tried both VFW and WDM drivers, and there isn't a lot of support around for such an old board, but thanks for the help.
