Laptop Via VGA -> Sony Wega LCD Via??

ok i have had a long dat with this television

and this laptop:

the laptop must be hooked via VGA and another connection on my television


1.i tried gold tipped S-video -> S-video and the quality was horrible so i returned the cable telling them

2. i bought a vga connector cable with a dvi converter at the end of one side and found out that you cannot have vga to dvi because vga is analog and dvi is digital so i returned that

3. i just went and got a vga to rca component cable similar to this:

and it does not work either! the screen turns purpleish

i have tried everything i dont know what else to do, any suggestions?

Your sony and acer links don't work.

If there's no DVI output on your laptop, and no VGA input on your TV, you may be stuck with s-video.
