    Hi,
Can anyone recommend a program (free if possible) to download which allows me to make a quality capture of YouTube footage. I want to put on PC, then put on my MP3 player.

Did a search on 'video streaming capture' and ws overwhelmed! ...and don't know if any sites are 'dodgy!'

Help greatly appreciated. I know this has been discussed previously - but there just seems to be a list of arguments about which software works and doesn't!

    Just this 'sticky'. https://forum.videohelp.com/topic270338.html
And I'll move you to the Newbie/General Forum as that's the proper place for web or screen capturing.

I use the kipvid website, copy the url of the youtube video and put it in keepvid and it downloads the video to your PC, besure you name it correctly when the save window opens on your desktop

    example stupid-stunt.flv

    and click save

    GetASFStream

This program will download about any video and soundclip off the internet.

Click File > URL-Protocol-Analysis and it will show you about any media stream you play, double-click to download or record (if it is a live radio station).

The new Real Player also downloads video files, but if they are not flash files like You-Tube, it will record them as .ivr files that only play in Real Player (at least until someone cracks them).

    Firstly, thanks for your replies.

I've downloaded 2 pieces of software which have allowed me to record streamind video - namely 'Replay Media Catcher' and HiDownload'.

However, my main reason for capture is to put on my 'iRiver Clix II' mp3 player as video clips.

To do this I normally use the iRiver software to convert from x format to the required AVI format.

But when I attempt to convert my captured 'FLV' files, the software can't recognise it!!!

Can anyone help me out? I realise it's basic stuff but surely somebody knows how to put streaming files onto mp3 players?

    Thanks in advance.

P.S. I've spent AGES trying to figure this out!!!!
