I have ASUS DVD Drive and SONY DVD Writer with my computer. There are several Video players installed in it like ASUSDvdXP, Nero Video Player, Jet, Windows Media Player, WinAmp, Realplayer,
VLC Media Player etc. But I can not run some VCDs.

When I insert some VCDs it gives Unknown format error message. Sometimes it does not identify as VCD. (Not Indicates even Drive)

Can you help me to get those VCDs play on my mechine.

    Thanks. / Best Regards.

  2. It's probably a codec you do not have on your machine. Have you put on any codec packs?

There have been many posts here of such problems with Indian-made VCDs. It seems that some use non-standard formats which can be read by VCD players, but not computer CD or DVD drives, in an attempt to defeat copying.

Few people outside India (or Sri Lanka, apparently) have seen these discs, so not much useful advice can be expected here, I'm afraid.
