(that above site was being advertised on the official TMPGEnc site - www.tmpgenc.net <-- no longer .com - dunno why)

For some reason, it's freely available there, as this version of Plus is not shareware... yet. It will be sold for $48.00 (U.S. Dollars). I have no idea what's difference from the "Original Version" and this "Plus Version".

    --EDIT--
Okay, I discovered the difference Original vs Plus verison.
Some noticable differences Plus version supports higher resolutions up to 1920x1152, while the Original version goes up to 720x576.
The even more interesting news is that there will be a THIRD version type of TMPGEnc called "TMPGEnc Server" which will allow Multipass (up to 20 Passes!). I think a lot of people will like this!

  5. I am using TMPenc v2.02 just downloaded few days ago from tmpeg.com

can someone email me the ...... files for the 2.02 and the new plus 2.51 version. (mail id is ankush24@rediffmail.com)
even the MPEG2 encoding is trial version.

its an excellent (even rated at top slot on varoius video encoder tests) software. But it takes a lot of time - for a 50 min vcd movie to SVCD format it took over 4 hrs on a Pentuim II 300 MHZ with 64 MB ram.

Can also someone explain me the file settings for tmpg. click on setting> click on advanced> > in video arrange method there are many settings for filter - what do they actually mean ?

The free versions have limited MPEG-2 encoding (30days). There are dozens of topics on the forum how to bypass the 30 days limit.

Look, the Plus versions are commercials and I wont tolerate requests or links for cracks. 8)

Actually the PLUS version says that it won't work after 14 days without a registration number. It comes with a bunch more VBR templates with interesting GOP settings.
