    Hi folks,
I'm thinking about buying myself a macbook mb061LL/a. Can I run final cut (for DV editing) fine on that? Thanks!

I'd take the one with the SuperDrive over the Combo drive without hesitation. Final Cut should be fine, though.

I'd get more Ram over getting a Superdrive.
You'll need the ram because Final Cut is
    Ram hungry.

4GB of RAM, SuperDrive, don't forget the AppleCare. You will probably want a FireWire drive (w/FW800 interface) for video capture and project sotrage. Remember that the drives on the PowerBooks are limited in size and speed.

Now, let's ask one more question: Do you really need a notebook? You do pay a premium for this. For less $$ you can get a new 24" iMac with 4GB RAM, faster SuperDrive, larger/faster HD, and AppleCare. Just a thought...
