I seem to only have this problem with the documentary, Murderball. I've done this with other full length features of any kind and have not encountered this problem. This happens when I try to convert the .vob files into mpegII or .flv
Some information:
- I used DVDFab HD for ripping
- I use Any Video Converter to convert .vob files into mpg(II) and .flv
Can anybody tell me what the problem may be?

At DVD authoring VOBs are cut into standard 1GB pieces and very often audio streams packed into VOBs get delay. If you use a VOB (especially) other than first, most applications will not analyse time codes to correct the delay between streams. You can get its value for further synching e.g. by making a project in DGIndex. It will demux audio and write the delay value to audio file name.

...or use vob2mpg to get the mpg a/v out of the VOBs as one continous file. Then (if yo want to), encode the mpg to flv.

Okay. I created the index file. Now what do I do with it?
BTW, if anybody would like to guide me through this via IM, that's cool. If you'd like my MSN or Yahoo user name, just send me a PM. -
Once you've run the vob set thru vob2mpg: Mission accomplished!Originally Posted by Neptuna_Fish

Um. Not exactly. I still have this whole audio synch issue that needs some resolving

In your case you don't need that file but if you demuxed audio in 'save project and demux audio' mode, delay value should have been written to audio file name. You could also get joined video stream if you loaded all VOBs and used 'demux video' mode instead. Audio delay in AC3 can be corrected with DelayCut command line tool by jsoto:Originally Posted by Neptuna_Fish

No such mode exists, or, at least, not in the latest version. There's Save Project/Save Project and Demux Video/Save BMP/Demux Audio Only. I chose to demux the audio, then save the project, because I figured it was the same thing.Originally Posted by Alex_ander
The audio issue still persists, though I have not tried DelayCut, but only because I don't know how to use it. I checked J. Soto's website for a guide on how to use DC, but, alas, there was none.
In the following, I will list the software I've used from dvd ripping to the final process of converting the vobs to .flv:
Ripping:
RipIt4Me "package": RipIt4Me, DVD Decrypter, FixVTS (in this order)
Post Rip:
VOB Merge, DGMPGDec, Any Video Converter
Screen shot of the Any Video Converter settings that I use.
Also, I don't know if this makes any difference, but when I went through the RipIt4Me wizard, I selected AC3 6-channel as the default audio track instead of 2-channel. -
So, you didn't try vob2mpg? (Should be used after the ripping stage)

My mistake in mode names (by memory). 'Save project' demuxes audio if in 'audio/output method' 'demux tracks' is checked and writes delay value; 'save project and demux video' demuxes both streams. 'Demux audio only' (without creating project file) may not give you delay value.Originally Posted by Neptuna_Fish
Do you have the delay value in audio file name in save project mode?
There's a readme file with usage examples in delaycut package, it works for me. Alternatively (if you don't like command line tools) you can use MPEG Video Wizard for synching but it's not free and you'll need both streams. -
Not meaning to upset the apple cart, but I have similar problem (sometimes, only with some dvds that I back up - not every one).
But in my case, not only is it a synch loss, but the audio sounds terribly slowed down. Can barely recognize speech at all.
Anybody run into this? And been able to fix it?Whatever doesn't kill me, merely ticks me off. (Never again a Sony consumer.)
