I downloaded a few movie studio trailers, such as Fox, that are in .VOB format. I would like to convert them into .mpg or .avi so I can use them in Premiere. All programs I've seen and tried such as DVD Decrypter, DVD-Lab, and even VOB2MPG appear to require a "real" DVD and can't convert one .vob file on my hard drive.
Any suggestions?

The simple way is to just rename them from VOB to .mpg. If they don't have subs, alternate lanquages, etc., that should work fine. VOBs contain more than just the video MPEG and audio. And make sure you have 'Hide extensions for known file types' unchecked in 'Folder Options' or you may not see all extensions.

Chances are they are not real VOBs, so it might be as simple as changing the file extension from VOB to .mpg.
DVD Lab/Pro does not require a full DVD structure, and will import and demux VOB files. Rejig will also probably demux them, but you will get elementary streams that will have to be muxed back into a single programme stream (.mpg).Read my blog here.
