Hi,
I am trying to convert a music video from .mpeg to MPEG 1 for a vcd (pretty basic, I know). Anyway I have run into a problem with this particular file that I have not had with any others. When I attempt to conver it in TMPEGEnc it simply freezes within the first 10 seconds of the video, always at the same place. I have had this problem with most .asf files so i attempted to convert the audio to a seperate .wav file. this proved to be futile because the conversion would error and only produce about 3 seconds of miscelaneous beeps. OK, so now i simply tried to convert it to an alternate file type like avi. Well Virtualdub won't open it because it gives an error that says it can't find the decompressor WMV1. Well I got the Windows media encoder to encode it to an .asf, but only to recieve an another error telling me that the file is possibly corrupted. Then I went and got every codec known to man with the krystal studios pack, the nimo pack, and several others, and then i tried it all again with the same results. Now keep in mind that this video plays just fine when I watch it. Also, I don't know where it is on the internet, only that I can download it through Kazaa. If you can help me please respond. I can give you any extra info you might need to solve this problem.
Thank you,
-Reed

well virtualdub not working is probably because you use a newer version....try it with version 1.3c which does support wmv and asf files
