    Hi gang,

I tried using (S)VCD2DVDMPG on an old vcd disc I had (some old tv episodes), ran it on the directory the cue and bin files were in, and an mpa and m1v files popped up at the end.

ok, I fell stoopid asking. but now what? Would someone please be kind enough to tell me how to burn this to a dvd? I have nero and moviefactory to work with.

    thank you!

The M1V is the video, and MPA is the audio.

These can be used to author a standard DVD video.
While the video is still MPEG1, this is still a valid DVD video.
I don't know if Nero will agree though.
It may reencode the video to MPEG2, degrading it unnecessarily.
    But give it a try.

I use GuiForDVDAuthor, a freeware authoring tool, and have used it to make many such projects. This will give you a "VIDEO_TS" folder with VOB and other files. Burn this folder using Nero.

The audio is likely 44100kHz and I believe will have to be converted to 48000kHz for it to work on a DVD.

Well, AFAIK, that's one of the things SVCD2DVDMPG does.
Another way to go about this business is to use the AVSEQnn.DAT as source file for TMPGEnc DVD Author directly.
TDA will take care of the audio upsampling automagically, and that's all that's needed to make a VCD mpg DVD compliant.

    No, SVCD2DVD converts it to 48k MP2.

I've done this -- 10 VCD TV episodes, each 40 mins, about 400 MB, fit neatly on one single sided DVD with menu courtesy GuiforDVDAuthor.
