hi, dvd architect is a very efficient software, but for me there is 2 weakneses, 1 is the handle of the subtitles, it's only stuck in white and can't be changed ot another color like yellow. 2 is about the menu, like many retails dvd (the one you got a movie on when it it has been buy eg:300, casino royale, batman begins, ect...) the principal menu can adapt it's frame itself when you watch the menu with a 4:3 or 16:9 tv, whatever the original format. if it's a widescreen menu with a 4:3 tv, the menu appear larger and keep it's 16:9 ratio, but zoomed enough to see properly the buttons by cropping the left, right and the top sides. i want to reproduce this effect with dvd architect but i don't know how, can somebody help me, please

    thanks to answer

Please don't hijack topics. Start a new thread for a new issue.
The subtitle issue can be solved with IfoEdit (if you know how to do it) and DVDSubEdit (I think) once you've authored the DVD to HDD.

You didn't say which version of DVD Architect you were using, but there is a section in the DVDA 2.0 PDF manual (the only one I have with me at work) entitled "Editing a Subtitle Event's Color Set." By following this, you can indeed change the color to whatever you like (such as yellow). In fact, I've done it myself.

    Hope this helps!

Click on the SUBTITLE EVENT tab to see what COLOR SET is assigned to the subtitle.

Then Click on the COLOR SETS tab to modify the corresponding color set (i.e. 1, 2, 3, or 4)

I think you are describing "Pan&Scan" (instead of "Letterbox"). I'm away from my video machine at the moment, and I don't recall if DVDA4 gives you a choice between PS or LB. Check the help to see if that option is there.

I seem to recall doing this in DVDLab PRO -- so it is possible...

I Just looked and cannot find a setting in DVDA for PanScan. So it appears it can only do "Letterbox"

I don't think you can do it for a menu with buttons. The problem is the original does not include multiple sets of button highlights (4:3 and PS). So when you change it to PS, the corresponding PS subpics do not exist (they are probably there for the 4:3 version).
