Hey all,
I encountered a problem where I clicked on a video label Movie A but it end up turning into Movie Z which I do not have on any of my hard drive. Movie Z was suppose to be deleted like a year ago or so.
I last accessed Movie A around March '07 and at the time it was fine.
Movie A is an animated video and I try updating all my codec which didn't help. I try installing some of my older codec which didn't work also. I'm currently using CCCP.
The weird part is all the video in this certain folder are all replaced by some weird video that is not on any of hard drive. The format of these video would be .avi and .mkv
I tried the search feature on here but didn't find anything similar to what I encountered. Hopefully you guys understand what I'm trying to type here. Thanks for your time and appreciate all the input on this issue.

I have seen similar behaviour from HDDs that had not been defragged in a long time, or that were slowly going back. I would start with a scandisk with a thorough surface scan, then defrag the HDD in question.
This may not fix your problem, as the file pointers and file data may already be corrupt, but it should stop it getting worse.Read my blog here.

That probably is the issue since I didn't defrag the HD with the corrupted file for a long while since I rarely uses it. Thank for the tip/advice.
