  1. I have a divx movie which is in the 16:9 widescreen format. Can I burn this to SVCD and keep it in widescreen or do I have to do it in the 4:3 ratio? I would like to keep it 16:9 and just have the black bars under and above the picture when I play it through my dvd player on my television.
I use TMPGenc for encoding and Nero 5.5 for burning. Please give me some suggestions for the encoding and the burning as far as settings to make this play in widescreen. Also when using the bitrate calculater for SVCD creation, do I have to take into consideration the menu/title page that I am going to add?
    Movie Properties:
    Frame rate: 20.0
    Video size: 352x160
ps. whats up with the 20 second frame rate, what template do I use?

  2. You cant convert this to (s)vcd without it look seriously fucked up. This is because of the 20 fps. NTSC, PAL and NTSCFilm all use higher frame rates so no matter what you use it is going to look crap.

I am guessing that you probably downloaded this movie from Morpheus or the like? This is a reason to stay away from them. Groups like [TMD] rip off other groups movies and just release them in 20 FPS . I would recommend looking for movies from groups such as Centropy or TCF as they release their movies with suitable frame rates.

As for you question on aspect ratios I believe that if you leave the template as is it will default to the aspect ratio of the source file so in your case 16:9
