First of all, this is my first posting - I have enjoyed very much reading through the older postings and as an electronics engineer in the UK, I hope to be able to help with tech problems in the future.

I do have a question. I am starting to put my (extensive) VHS collection onto DVD, and have been having some good results with my Panasonic NV-HS930 S-VHS deck with it's 3DNR and TBC doing well with the usual chroma noise and wavy lines we all know so well. My local movie makers club is all digital now and they are selling their S-VHS decks off cheaply. I am interested in the following model as it may be better still than what I have now. with only 35 hours on the head drum and cost being £100 is sounds solid value:

I have searched, but cannot find much about it. I would value any opinions you may have - especially: is it full field TBC (with Macrovision stripping potential), what is the quality of the video signal, does it cope well with older and worn tapes? How would it fare agains a higher-end consumer VCR concerning it's PB quality?

All input welcome before I part with my hard-earned!

Just to add, I found the instructions / specs on the JVC AU website:
