  1. First file I've been unable to convert in Vegas 6.0c
    Trying to convert to mpeg2
    Vegas hangs until it times out when trying to import.
    Can one of you kind folks offer a clue?
    Here is the G-Spot info on the file -

    It would be easier if you uploaded the image to this forum instead.

    Two things jump out immediately.

    1. The audio is VBR MP3. Vegas hates VBR MP3. Re-encode it as CBR or uncompressed PCM and Vegas will have no problems.

    2. Don't know how well Vegas 6 handles H.264/AVC.

    Fix the audio first, then try again and see what happens.

    i think you're one version/update short of avc import.

    just encoding?
    or editing beforehand?

    use one of the free mpeg2 encoders. loading with avisynth.
    make it easy and use a frontend.
    like FAVC.

    if you need to edit,
    use vdub and encode to a edit friendly format like dv, or go lossless with huffyuv
