I have a competitor's disc that is supposedly DivX with 150 songs. Total file size is 852MB. Load time: 15 seconds

I burned my own 100 DivX files at 752MB. Load time: 55 Seconds! Ouch!

    1) What effects the load time (time it takes to see the menu) on these discs?

    2) How do I get quicker load times?

    3) How can I verify that any particular file was in fact compressed with DivX, as opposed to Xvid? Going a step further, can I verify what version DivX or Xvid was used?

    thanks!

    Yes.

    Addendum: Using GSpot...

    They used....
    Codec: DX50
    Name: DivX 5.2.1 (WaffleDay)

    I used...
    Codec: DX50
    Name: DivX 5.x/6.x

    Does that tell anything useful?
    thanks!
