I am making a dvd for a friend and I have added a Soundtrack menu.
Now on this menu I have 20 text buttons that is the name of each song I want on the dvd; however when I imported all of the audio into the program as assets and it says audio file by it, it wouldn't let me at them as a link.
I basically want the person to be able to click on the song and have it began playing. I don't even know if this is possible or if there is a workaround to get this to work. I just want a soundtrack menu and the person can listen to individual songs on. When I drag the song into the button it adds it to the background and it becomes the main background audio.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DVD is video based. You cannot have audio assets on their own. You need to either add a small video clip (could be a still or short slideshow) or a menu to each audio clip so the links have somewhere to go. What you could do is replicate the menu itself and use that as the background so the user can switch tracks at any time. Yes, the audio is effectively the background music to the menu as far as Encore is concerned, but to the user it is simply music playing that they can change any time.

In Encore 2, you can add a Slideshow with a single Still and an audio track. Then on the menu, link to the different "Slideshow" (one for each song.

Well I guess since I what them to just click on the title of the song and stay at the soundtrack menu, I will just have to duplicate the soundtrack menu for each one so it looks like they never leave the main soundtrack menu.
Does anyone know a fast way to do this, or am I going to have to import the menu over and over and then link and link and link?
Any help would be great, but also thanks for helping me so far. -
Yeah that's what I ended up doing, I just had to label each new menu.
I got that all done, but I have a stupid question. When I specify the link for each button to the individual song menu it automatically renames my button name. How do I disable this? -
Nevermind I got it, its the Sync button text and name check box.
Thanks anyway
