My relatives have an ATI Sapphire Radeon 9200SE Atlantis using the Omega Drivers (3.8.205) on Windows XP Home SP2.
It has a RCA video-out port that goes directly to the video-in on the front of their VCR.
In the past, the picture shows properly, but lately what shows on the TV screen is black-and-white and rolls vertically infinitely.

    - I've checked the connections.
    - I've reinstalled the drivers more than once, even using DriverCleaner.NET.
    - I've checked all the software settings for the Omega Drivers.
    - I've given them an alternative connection (S-Video) which their video card has but neither their VCR or TV have. (At this point I'm wondering where I could get them a S-Video to RCA adapter).

But before I do that, I wish to make sure that this display issue is the fault of worn-out connectors and NOT some software issue.

What else can I check and verify?

    Thank you,
    Jeremy

black and white and rolls vertically sounds like a pal/ntsc issue. have you tried different video-out settings?

I will try them again next time I am out there.
However, like I said, it used to work fine. It doesn't even work now with showing the computer's desktop, let alone a movie.

Did you install just the drivers, or the whole package. TV out on ATI cards seems to need the Catalyst control center software to operate correctly. You can actually install the drivers and Catalyst, but not the multimedia crap if you download the pieces separately.

This has always worked in the past.

    Questions:
    - Are you using Catalyst Control Centre?
    - What type of TV are you using (HD/SD)?
    - What screen resolution is the display setting set to?
    - Have you tried going straight to the TV from the computer?

Sounds like a timing problem, as improperly selected PAL/NTSC would cause, but is most likely due to too high a display resolution or monitor frequency.
