subtitle displayed in textbox on DVP3040K

can u guys help me how to make the subs textbox disappear? when i playback a movie with a subtitle on my dvd player DVP3040K...the subs always appeared in a textbox. But when plaback on PC..it only appeared in text..and i prefer that way. How am i gonna make it disappear and only display the text (subtitle) instead of the textbox with the subs.

i usually used Subrip as the subs format. i've tried the tips on how to add permanent subtitle on a AVI video. And it helps a lot. the playback was smooth with the subs display in text. But it is time consuming. 1 movie for couple of hours. It is totally waste of time.

Can u guys help? Any software to encode/decode?
